wrapping up ‘07

Posted by j@ere.my on Dec 30, 2007 in Personal |

it’s been a while again.

christmas has come and gone. now the new year is approaching. let’s review ‘07:

-moved back in with mom and dad in feb

-commuted to drexel for my last 2 terms

-graduated from drexel

-enjoyed my first real vacation in a long time. it was good to actually get away from everything, not just school

-started new full-time director of communications job

-went to my best friend’s wedding, the actual day being the only enjoyable part for me

-traveled to a conference in grand rapids, and visited my favorite city, chicago, on the way back

-started to build a facebook application

-got things squared away with credit cards, etc.

-saved enough money to move out

-found a place to live, and started moving my things

looking back, i had quite a few accomplishments, but i still have to conclude that 2007 is not a year i will remember fondly. though i had some great time with friends and by myself, it wasn’t really just a choice, it was practically a necessity. my stress level has been running in the danger zone for a large portion of the year.

let’s hope hope hope that 2008 turns out a bit brighter. all i know now is that i plan to surf my way into the year on tidal wave of tasty libations at the annual hamilton manor new years bash.

i’m not usually one for resolutions. why make a promise to yourself that you probably will never keep? but here’s a few things i’d like to do either in 2008, or sometime in the near future:

-build up my own business

-complete my facebook application

-complete some other software development projects

-start a writing regimen, including blogging as well as poetry, fiction and nonfiction

-travel to new york city more often

that’s all for now. i’ll try to squeak one out soon when i have a spare moment.

Ok, time for more writing posts.
Blogging, poetry, fiction and nonfiction.
I might like to join you in this quest.
Maybe we could have a writing night once in awhile?
Writing for fun, not work, that is.

Good idea.. we could even do a group thing.. picking a topic or style and giving ourselves a set amount of time to work on it. I bet Angie would be in..
